One day I came back from school, and all our stuff was piled high, packed in boxes.

‘What’s going on?’ I asked Dadda.

‘I got a job,’ he said, and smiled.

We packed up the car and drove for hours. We drove towards Dadda’s new job, and our new-new Aussie home.

We drove past gum trees and paddocks and cows, and along the Great Ocean Road. I fell asleep, with my head on the window.

When I woke up, the day was gone. I could smell the salty ocean breeze and hear some cranky seagulls above us.

‘Our new home. Are you ready?’ asked Dadda, smiling. ‘I think you might be surprised!’

Dadda parked at a place overlooking the waves, and we walked up to a little cottage.

‘What’s that?’ I said, pointing up at a tower, white-tall, with curved brick walls.
